A full afternoon of spoon making with Ella at Manchester Craft and Design Centre.

We will cover a whole variety of traditional pewter smithing skills to create your own unique spoon design. We will begin by designing your spoon - Ella will have lots of guidance and inspiration to get your creativity flowing or please feel free to bring ideas along.

Ella will then guide you through each process with demonstrations as you learn how to hammer a flat sheet of metal into a spoon bowl. We will then use molten pewter to cast ingots for the handles before personalising your spoon using a variety of letter stamping, shaping and hammering before polishing for you to take home. A handmade spoon for lots of yummy treats!

Whether you want enjoy a creative escape or get a good insight into a wide range of pewtersmithing techniques to start your own hobby - this day is jampacked with skills and creativity.

Suitable for beginners or those with previous silver or jewellery experience.

Groups are kept small (maximum 3 people) with step by step guidance and lots of expert tips and help from Ella as required.
