‘10 somethings’ A collaborative project between Ella McIntosh and ceramicist Verity Howard
Two makers to explore the number ten in a series of commissioned pieces. Verity Howard, ceramicist was invited to collaborate with pewtersmith Ella McIntosh.
Verity and Ella were challenged to step outside of their usual practices by working in response to one another’s medium. Uniting Verity’s exploration of concept through contemplative ceramic work, and Ella’s creation of utensils with a focus on their functional character.
As a result, the ‘Ten Somethings’ sit somewhere between the spectrum of functionality and form, presenting a series of surreal and unusable tools.
Commissioned by Manchester Craft and Design Centre in response to ten years of their Annual MMU Graduate Solo Exhibition Award
