WORKSHOP FAQs

What should I bring to the event?

All materials are provided including tea, coffee and biscuits as well as aprons and design inspiration however if you have any doodles or pictures of ideas you'd like to make please do bring them along or check the class listing below to find specifications on items to bring:

Pendant/keyring and Manchester Bee cuttlefish casting making: Designs and drawings measuring a maximum of 5cm square work best so they can be transferred onto the size of the cuttlefish.

Pewter brooch, bangle or Christmas decoration making:  interesting textures to try - items less than 5mm thick such as lace, paper stencils or dried (fresh do not work) leaves or petals work well.

What should I wear?

All workshops involve using heavy tools and/or heat. Please wear closed toed (no crocs, sorry) shoes and long sleeves where possible. Whilst aprons are provided you may get dusty so please don’t wear your best clothes. Manchester Craft and Design Centre is a heritage Victorian building which can get a little chilly in winter so please bring along an extra layer.

When should I arrive?

Ella will be in the workshop space, Space2 on the ground floor of the centre, 15minutes before the start of the workshop. The kettle will be on so please feel free to come in if you’re early.

If you are running late please don’t worry, Ella will catch you up when you arrive. Feel free to phone her on 07816230902 if you are struggling to find the building.
